How juvenile tricks can get them anything but treats this weekend

This weekend, streets all across the U.S. will be crowded by ghosts, superheroes and Disney princesses as kids in Halloween costumes run from house to house trick-or-treating. But Halloween is also a time for kids to get into some trouble when they pull pranks or test the boundaries of the rules they are supposed to follow.

Why legal representation can be crucial when facing drug charges

For decades, law enforcement agencies and prosecutors have been determined to crack down on drug crimes. But this so-called "war on drugs" has widely been considered a failure and has resulted in overcrowded prisons and people serving time for relatively minor and non-violent offenses.

Intoxication not always obvious in alleged drunk drivers

Recently, we read a news story about a woman who was arrested for DUI in another state. Police in that state noted that the woman was obviously intoxicated and had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.322 percent, which is significantly higher than the legal limit of 0.08. In fact, it is closer to the level of 0.40, which is considered to be fatal.

Failed field sobriety tests do not always prove intoxication

Facing charges stemming from a drunk driving stop can be very upsetting. No one wants to be at risk of dealing with increased insurance premiums, fines, license suspension and even jail time. But these are the penalties that anyone charged with DUI in Arizona can be facing if convicted.
